Yes, it was intentional. I believe that when you need to deliver feedback at work, the formula I suggest is good. Starting with ‘I feel…’ Nobody can argue with your feelings. And a lot of the benefits I mention above still apply eg: not having to fake it, build strong relationships, clear misunderstandings and give opportunity for things to be fixed. I think though that we potentially need to be more selective when and with whom we share our feelings at work. We are getting paid to deliver value. With close family and friends the goal is mutual emotional support and helping each other thrive. So we can allow ourselves to blurt out our feelings without much thought.
